This story examines the current conflict of interests between the Canadian mining company Gran Colombia Gold and the people of Marmato and Segovia, two small mining towns in the northern part of the country. I have included the article as written by Rémy Bourdillon and published in the Walrus Magazine in the Decmeber 2019 issue. This work was made possible by the Michener-Deacon Fellowship for Investigative journalism. This story is the third in a series I produced with this grant.
