Who Owns Colombia's Gold?

This story examines the current conflict of interests between the Canadian mining company Gran Colombia Gold and the people of Marmato and Segovia, two small mining towns in the country's north. It was published in the Walrus Magazine in the Decemeber 2019 issue and was awarded a National Magazine Award in 2020. This work was made possible by the Michener-Deacon Fellowship for Investigative journalism and this story is the third in a series I have produced with this grant.
